Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi – Nghia Lo

Depart from Hanoi to Nghia Lo, situated in Yen Bai province. The road will lead through Phu Tho province, famous as a tea growing area. Pass through Tay minority villages. Upon arrival, visit a White Thai ethnic village.


Day 2: Nghia Lo – Mu Cang Chai (B)

Today, your journey leads you to Mu Cang Chai. This region is known for it countless terraced rice fields. Enjoy breath-taking vistas of terraced rice fields, considered the most spectacular in Vietnam. The area looks most stunning in May when the locals prepare and water the fields for the new crop and during harvest time between September and October. See Blue H’mong and White Thai people in their colourful traditional dresses.  Upon arrival in Mu Cang Chai, stretch your legs during a walking tour to visit Thai houses-on-stilts. You have the opportunity to enjoy a performance of traditional music and dance of Thai people.

Day 3: Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen – Sapa (B).

Depart for Than Uyen, home of the White Thai minority and known as “the rice bowl” of the area. Proceed to Sapa, passing through an area inhabited by Blue Hmong, Thai, Dzao and Lu people.  Arrival to Sapa – a resort town founded by the French in 1922. Located 360 km from Hanoi, Sapa used to be the summer retreat for the French and is now a popular tourist destination for foreigners and locals alike. The area around Sapa has stunning vistas onto terraced rice fields and the region is home to a number of ethnic minorities, such as the Black H’mong, Red Dzao, Giay and Xa Pho hill tribe people.

Day 4: Sapa – Bac Ha market (B)

DSC 348 2After breakfast at hotel, depart in early morning for Bac Ha, visit Bac Ha market, the most colorful and the biggest market in this area, this market is near the Chinese border so you have the chance to meet the ethnic of both countries there. You will have lunch at local restaurant. Then go for an easy walk to Ban Pho and Na Kheo, Flowers H'mong, Tay, Nung and Phu La villages. You will have dinner on your own and overnight at hotel in Bac Ha.

Day 5: Bac Ha – Vu Linh (B)

DSC 379 2After breakfast at hotel, depart for Vu Linh village. This day will remain a great moment in your trip. You take one of the most beautiful roads of the country, passing ethnic villages and beautiful landscapes, such as Flower H’mong, White Daos, green tea hill, rice-field... on arrival at Vu Linh, check in the traditional stilt house for welcome drink with local green tea. You will have lunch together and discover white Daos village and their life style in the afternoon. You will have dinner and overnight at home-stay in Vu Linh.

Day 6: Vu Linh – Hanoi (B)

After breakfast at home-stay, you take a boat cruise on Thac Ba Lake, the most beautiful lake in this area where local people come to fish. You will have luch at home-stay. Then, come back to Hanoi.
